Please note, most of these FAQs apply to the Flash website templates.

The following are questions you might ask before purchasing a template. Please note, many of these apply when you purchase a template without the .FLA file included. If your question is not answered here, please check our help pages.

1. What is a Flash website template?
   
   A Flash website template is a website that is created using Flash in which the site content can be updated by you. It is viewable using the Flash 6 plugin, which you can download here if you do not have it installed for your browser. The content of each page is easily updated using a text file that is included when you purchase a template.
    
2. What do I receive when I purchase a Flash template from Winklet Web Design?
   
   After you purchase the web site template online, you will be emailed a .zip file containing the files needed for your website. These files will include one or more text files, a .swf file which is the compiled Flash file, an index.html file, and on many templates, default images which you can replace with your own images. Also included is a readme.txt file with instructions on how to use your template.

3. What types of payment do you accept?
   
   All orders are processed through Paypal and all major credit cards are accepted. It is not necessary to have a Paypal account to place an order. You can also pay using the Paypal e-check method (where you transfer funds from your bank account to your Paypal account).
    
4. Once I place an order for a template, how long do I have to wait until I receive my template files?
   
   If paying by credit card, once payment is received, the template files will be emailed to you within 24 hours. If you pay using the Paypal e-check method, please allow 3-4 business days for the e-check to clear. Once the e-check clears, your files will be emailed to you.
   
   * IF YOU HAVE NOT HEARD FROM US after more than 24 hours after you placed your order, please note the following: We attempt to email you using the email account you have associated with your Paypal account. If you do not hear from us, either the email was bounced back to us as invalid and we had no other way to contact you, or the email we sent you was filtered as SPAM and placed in a "junk" folder, or possibly even deleted because of the file attachment. Please contact us so we can resolve this issue and fulfill your order as soon as possible.
    
5. Is the cost of the template a one-time fee or a monthly fee?
   
   It is a one-time fee only.
    
6. I just ordered a template but I accidentally ordered the wrong one. Can you send me xxxx template instead?
   
   No, not if the files have already been sent to you. We will not make any exchanges once the files have been emailed to you, no exceptions. Because the files are digital, there is really no way to "return" them to us for an exchange. Please double check before completing your purchase that you have selected the correct template that you wish to purchase.
    
7. I want to change the font face of the company name and slogan, how can I do that?
   
   The templates don't allow modification of the font face of the company name, slogan or buttons. However, we can change it for you for$10. Please contact us to request this.
    
8. I want to add my logo, how can I do that?
   
   If the template does not already give you the ability to add your own logo, we can add it for you for $15. Please contact us to request this.
    
9. I want to add pictures, how can I do that?
   
   Some templates already have a picture or pictures on each page that you can update on the fly. The template description you see while browsing the templates will indicate if this feature is available. If you want to add extra pictures, we can modify your template to enable this for a minimal customization fee. This will vary depending on which template you have or are interested in. Please inquire for details.
    
10. I bought a Portfolio template but I want my image gallery on a different page and not the second page. Can you change it?
    
    Yes, we will move your image gallery to a different page that you request at no extra charge. Please inquire to have this done.
     
11. I bought a Portfolio template but I want more images in my gallery or more than one image gallery. Can you do this?
    
    Yes, we can add image galleries, and on some templates add more images in the gallery. There will be a customization fee to do this. Please see our customizations page or inquire with your specific request for more information and a price quote.
     
12. Do I receive the source code (.FLA files) with the templates?
    
    Because these are DYNAMIC Flash templates, the necessity to modify and recompile .FLA source file is eliminated, therefore the .FLA files are not included with the basic template prices. .FLA files can be purchased at an additional cost (see product descriptions for purchase options).
     
13. What is the .FLA file and is it something I should purchase?
    
    .FLA files contain all the source code and are for advanced users of Flash who wish to make extensive modifications to the templates. With the .FLA file, any changes desired can be made, however Flash 8 or higher software is required, as well as advanced knowlege of Flash and Actionscript. You do not need this file in order to change your text. You also do not need this file to modify colors and images on many of the templates.
     
14. Can you help with questions regarding the use of the .FLA files?
    
    We don't provide support on Flash authoring, but there are a few sites that might be helpful:

15. Can I add video clips to the templates?
    
    There are two options for use of video with the templates.
    
    1- You could have a video load within the template but it would have to be in .FLV format.(this feature could be added for an additional fee).
    2- You could add html links in the main text areas that would open the video in any format in a new window. It could either be a regular sized window or a smaller popup window.
     
16. How much of the content will I be able to update?
    
    You will be able to update the text on every page, the Company Name that appears at the top of each page, the company slogan, the names of each button and page title, and the email address which appears at the bottom of each page. If you order a Portfolio template, you can also update the gallery images, their titles and descriptions. On specific Portfolio templates, you can also modify the home page image. On specific templates in the Business and Nature category, you can change some of the images that come with the templates. This will be indicated in the template description.
     
17. Is there a limit to the amount of text I can enter in the page content section of each page?
    
    No. You may enter as much text as you want. The built in scrollbars will allow scrolling of text that goes beyond the size of the text area.
    * However, this does not apply to the gallery image titles, descriptions and gallery main page text if you have ordered a Portfolio Template. In these sections, you may only enter an allotted amount of text in the space of the page.
     
18. How do I open a template once I have received it?
    
    You will need a program such as WinZip to extract the files. Windows XP users should already have a file extracting program installed with Windows. There are many ways to extract the files you need using WinZip. You can use Windows Explorer to navigate to the zipped file. Right-click on the file and select "Extract to" or "Extract to folder..." Another way to unzip files is to first open up the zipped file in WinZip and then click on Extract.

    Once the files are extracted, you can view the template by opening the index.html file in your web browser. Read the readme.txt file for instructions on editing the content.
     
19. Do I get web hosting included with the template?
    
    No. If you do not already have a website or have never had one before, take a look at our hosting and domain name registration services. We will be happy to assist you by answering any further questions you might have about getting a new site started up. Be sure to visit the help section too.
     
20. Do you do custom design?
    
    Yes. We can create a custom website for you or make customizations to a template you purchased from us. Please see our customization page for more information.
     
21. Your current selection does not include a category or style which is relevant to the site I want. Can I make a request for one?
    
    Yes. Use our contact form to make a request for a specific category, style or color scheme. Our goal is to have a constantly growing selection that will cater to as many different types of businesses and individual needs as possible.
     
22. I am interested in purchasing one of your templates but I don't want the audio included with it. Can I purchase the template without the audio?
    
    Yes. Be sure to note in the "Special Instructions" when placing your order which parts of the audio you do not want with the template.
     
23. I am interested in purchasing one of your templates but I don't like the music that comes with it. Can I get that changed?
    
    If you have Flash MX, you can change the music on your own. We can send instruction on how to do this if needed. Alternately, we may be able to replace the music at no cost if you provide the desired music in mp3 or wav format. For more info, see our customizations page. *Please note, in the Portfolio category, templates #24 and higher allow you to add an mp3 of your choice if desired.
     
24. If I buy a template, do I have exclusive ownership of it?
    
    No. When you purchase one of our templates, you are purchasing a license to use it according to our Terms of Use. Once you purchase a template, you may use it for your own commercial or personal website(s) for as long as you want. You can update your site content at any time and have no further obligation to Winklet Web Design. However, you are not authorized to resell it elsewhere as a template.
     
25. Can I get a refund if I decide not to use the template I purchased?
    
    No. We do not offer refunds once you have been emailed the template files. Since the goods being purchased are electronic, there is no way to return them.
     
26. Does "www.winkletwebdesign.com sample site" or any content relating to Winklet Web Design appear on the template I purchase as it does in the samples?
    
    No. Nothing linking to or referring to Winklet Web Design will appear on your purchased template.
     
27. Why do the Web Hosting and Domain Name registration links open up a separate window and look like a different website?
    Winklet Web Design is an authorized reseller for these services and all aspects of these services are handled through Wild West Domains and their servers.
